Stanford Research Computing Facility
Menlo Park, CA
This project includes the design/build construction of a new 21,000 SF 2-story steel frame building to house Stanford University Stanford School of Medicine, and Stanford Linear Accelerator research computers. With an average load of over 500 watts/SF and cabinets’ loads anticipated to be greater than 20kW/cabinet, this is considered a high density computing facility. The project incorporates leading edge energy conservation features, including 415V power direct to the server cabinets and 100% outside air with all outside air relieved from the space via natural convection (zero fan energy for outside air exhaust). These and other features add up to an industry leading calculated PUE of 1.15.
